Athens Piraeus port

For the Aegina ferry you need Piraeus, not Lavrio or Rafina. Athens International Airport's public-transport page lists these connections with Piraeus port:

  • Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) from the airport to the Piraeus area, ending at Dimotiko Theatro. The airport gives an estimated travel time of about 60 minutes to the Piraeus metro station. More detail: STASY (stasy.gr).
  • Suburban railway to Piraeus: the airport states about 65 minutes.
  • Express bus X96 “Piraeus – Athens International Airport”: the airport states about 90 minutes. Telematics and tickets: OASA (oasa.gr / 11185).

Frequencies and fares are not listed here. Check AIA, STASY or OASA on the day you travel.

From central Athens

Metro Line 3 also links the city with Piraeus. Once at the port, Saronic Ferries says departures for Aegina use Gate E8 inside the port. Allow time to walk or take a short taxi between the metro/bus stop and Gate E8, especially with luggage.

By pre-booked transfer

A door-to-quay transfer from ATH or a city hotel is another option when you have an early sailing or heavy bags. Always confirm the drop-off point as Gate E8 (or your operator's stated gate) with the driver.
