Arriving on Aegina

From the main port you step into Aegina town, the island's capital, with its harbour front, cafés and shops. The island is compact enough for a day trip: many visitors stay around the harbour, ride a bus or taxi to beaches, or visit the Temple of Aphaia on the hill inland (one of the best-preserved Archaic temples in Greece).

Getting around

Island buses leave from near the port / Ethnegersias Square area (confirm the stop on the day). Local tourism pages commonly list KTEL Aegina contacts; for official municipal news and services use the Municipality of Aegina website. Taxi ranks are at the port square next to the ticket offices.

Bus times and taxi fares are not copied here; they change by season. Ask at the port or check the municipality / local KTEL on the day.

What to see (context only)

Beyond the harbour, visitors often head to the Temple of Aphaia, the pistachio groves the island is famous for, and coastal villages such as Perdika. For guided activities and tickets, use a reputable booking site or local operators — and keep checking ferry return times with your company so you do not miss the last sailing back to Piraeus.
